Featherstone 73 is a soft, red, winter wheat with semi-erect juvenile plant growth. Plant color is blue-green at boot stage. Anther color is yellow. Average ear emergence is 125+ days. Plant height averages 86 cm. At maturity, head is mid-dense with strap shape, erect, and apically awnletted. Glume color at maturity is white and glume length is medium. Seed shape is oval and red in color with a soft texture. Featherstone 73 is resistant to Leaf Rust, Powdery Mildew, and Barley Yellow Dwarf Virus. It is susceptible to Stem Rust and Soil borne Mosaic Virus. It is susceptible to Hession Fly Biotypes B, C, D, L, and O.
